The Т-34/85 tank is considered to be the best medium tank of the Second World War. It distinguished itself from other tanks of same category with the optimal combination of main combat characteristics - firepower, protection and mobility, as well as high serviceability and technological design - which allowed a mass production during a very difficult time period for the Soviet Union. German tank commanders stated “The T-34 is vastly superior to all German tanks of first part of WW II”
During World War II, the T-34/85 tank was produced at three factories. Our kit is a model of the T- 34/85 tank with a 85 mm ZIS-C-53 gun manufactured at the plant No. 183 in the autumn of 1944. In total over 48.000 T-34-85 tanks were manufactured.

The model had been previously built and surface primed. Apparently Zvezda model kit was undifficult to assembly, there were insignificant additions like handrails made from wires and photo-ethced engine compartement grid. The colours have been used Mr Color, laquers acrylic Mr Hobby and Tamiya. Wash by Tamiya too. For streaking effects I used white, dark grey mixed in 3 combinations art oil paints; the brown one for rust effect. Vallejo pigments were drybrushed to provide light dust effect. Tamiya weathershine set C I applied to picture rusted exhaust pipes and soot. The set F for naked metal parts and caterpillar lugs.

Модель танка была собрана и загрунтована. Набор от Звезды показался несложным в плане сборки; в качестве дополнений проволочные поручни и решетка МТО из фототравления. Окраска осуществлялась красками Mr Color, лаки акриловые Tamiya и Mr Hobby. Смывка Tamiya. Потеки наносились художественным маслом в 3 градациях белого и темно-серого, коричневая для имитации ржавчины. Пигменты Vallejo втирались всухую для эффекта запыления. Пигменты от Тамии (набор С) я применил для обозначения выхлопных труб и выхлопа. Набором F выделил оголенные металлические части, а также грунтозацепы гусениц, ленивец и поверхности ведущих катков.
